Today, technology and authority exist in evey corner of the United States.The media tells us how to live, and convenient technology consumes us every day. We are victims of a corrupted society that wishes to drain us of our individualism until we surrender to anyone elses control. Therefore the question is born: Can a Transcendentalist exist in what we've made of America? Would they find a way to live in solitary peace? Or would they become a public spectacle for their nonconformity and appear as a fool to all of society? Would that then tempt the media to track him or her down and expose their new lifestyle, completely defeating the purpose of it? SINK OR SWIM? think, consider, comment.
